I can't believe its Friday already.
Friggin time flies.
Its tax-time Stoney! I saw you bitchin about that lol. $250K?! you have to pay? Damn dawg... and you're worried about $100 HVAC service contract?
So check this out... effing TurboTax Premier... for lines 1d and 1e... cost basis and proceeds... is only a 7 digit field.
I had to go back and amend a return and the upload you get from the broker for year 2018 is no longer available. That's stupid. You can get a .csv file... or a .pdf, but TurboTax doesn't take these. And I'm not printing out over 400 pages of trades on Form 8949. So I tried to enter the aggregate amounts of all the trades on their worksheet. It only takes 7 digits. Now before ya'll roll your eyes like "yeah right VZ, you're a baller trading $53MM dollars.... " understand that those figures are all daytrades. So if you're in and out of say 1000 shares of $100 stock 4 times in one day, that $400,000 goes to your overall cost basis (line 1d) and proceeds (line 1e). So you can see how an active daytrader can easily break the 7 digit mark total in a year with a 5 figure margin account.
So f-it. I wrote the total in by hand on the schedule D and attached a note. If they wanna see 400 pages of trades, I'll email them the .PDF file.
I can't believe Intuit has never been made aware of this. I mean yeah, you just upload all the data into the program, but if the broker data is no longer available in whatever format TurboTax wants... pffff. you're f'd.
Whatever on that.
Ok Stoney, its too bad the "ideas for now" doesn't accommodate possible short positions. But I'll throw one out anyway.
Now I know the entire investing world loves Nike, and its also on the stupid Dow... and I read their last transcript... and they admitted revenue would be light... but man I gotta think with no back to school, no college sports, no high school, jr high, or grade school sports this fall.... they are gonna take a huge revenue hit.
It's at $97 today. I'm not gonna play it because I'm not gonna tie up the funds for a multi-month hold, but I think that thing is gonna see the low 80's again.
61 PE... gimmeee a friggin break. That thing should be $60 tops.
Well have a good weekend Stoney, oh and ps... who the hell is gonna go to a Walmart parking lot to watch a movie? Not me. I do like the idea of a renaissance of the drive-in theaters though. We covered that. I think its a great idea. Fond memories. Paradise by the dashboard light.
