Compass, in its IPO paperwork, noted that it faces "substantial competition" from big drugmakers, along with academic and nonprofit researchers. It said such nonprofits, like the Usona Institute, "may be willing to provide psilocybin-based products at cost or for free, undermining our potential market for COMP360."
Carey Turnbull, a board member of Usona and the Heffter Research Institute, another psychedelics-research nonprofit, has helped fund some of the legal challenges against Compass' patenting efforts, Lucid News has reported.

I've been noticing that someone has been sneaking into my house in Ct and stealing the canning jar lids. And the jars. I have lost so many tops from this drawer that really someone is stealing them. It's unsettling.
I just heard on the radio about the great canning shortage of 2020 and apparently it's just as bad as the time this first rolled around in the 1970's. Everyone has planted a peace garden and now they have too much stuff and no way to can and preserve.
There's a bit of corporate responsibility here-- a huge missed opportunity at Ball Corp.

Ball Corp. price target raised to $91 from $87 at JPMorgan 08:20 BLL JPMorgan analyst Jeffrey Zekauskas raised the firm's price target on Ball Corp. to $91 from $87 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. Ball's earnings and EBITDA should "grow more quickly" in 2021, Zekauskas tells investors in a research note. Aluminum cans in the United States are in short supply, and all major aluminum can manufacturers are adding capacity, says the analyst. He believes tight supply/demand conditions are leading to more favorable terms of trade as old contracts are renegotiated in an environment where customers have fewer options and incentives to switch suppliers.
