JetBlue Airways Reports February Traffic

JBLU11.94, +0.01, +0.1%) reported today that its traffic in February increased 25.3 percent from February 2005, on a capacity increase of 25.1 percent. Load factor for February 2006 was 83.4 percent, an increase of 0.1 points from February 2005. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 97.2 percent and its on-time(2) performance was 62.5 percent. JetBlue's operating performance for the month was adversely impacted by a blizzard that hit the Northeast over the weekend of February 11, resulting in the cancellation of 297 flights.
 
still fighting this absurd 'cold" and/or sinus b.s. Hard to get rid of it once it gets a grip on you in the Chicago cold, snow, low indoor humidity and less than optimal indoor air quality. Not gonna post for a few days so I can take it easy, think less, sleep more and get rid of this once and for all ! :eek: Can't recall having such a stubborn "cold" before! My doc/friend it will may take 2 more weeks since it went into the lungs.

I'm sure the 'stress' of following the markets isn't helping recovery time, nor allowing for good decision making.

Most friends and family now live in Florida, AZ and San Fancisco yet I'm living in cold and flu-infested Chicago. Go figure !

Do people get bad colds in warm climates, too??!

SOX

On March 1st I bought 2 SOX March 555 Puts @18 (and posted them on this Journal). Then I sold them at 18 on March 2-3 after holding down them to 12.50 bid. I must be losing brain cells or seriously need a long vacation (after suffering through a 3 week flu/cold bug which is gone finally)

.... because damn if I know why I sold these, and never bought them back! That is some serious crap trading! I am extremely disappointed in myself.

Totally back to health! Now feel 110% finally after 3+ weeks!!!!! If you ever feel like bitching about things just remember that without your health nothing really means squat to any of us anyway!! Nothing like a 103.5 fever and potential pneumonia to give one perspective on life! :-) A lot of people I know have come down with flus and bad colds this year; guess that goes along with a warm winter in Chicago.
Scheduled to take series 7 on Monday 27th! Thereafter will begin posting on Journals again.

Are the markets getting weirder or is it just me??! Took hits on AAPL calls, CME puts and GOOG calls last expiry cycle. But DNA has made a lot of that back for me this period so far. Definitely not a good idea to trade while feeling like crap!

back in AAPL calls earlier today with less conviction --- waited for the small gap to fill -- now let's see if AAPL can trade >65 this week or if the nasd a-holes manage to mark it to 60. Amazing how fickle this fking market can be. What the F is up with AAPL anyway! I say AAPL explodes higher - soon!

+ 7 DNA June 90c @4.08 (sold the 75c/80c and 85c for st profits this week and Friday)
+ 1 DNA May 80c @10.70

(short dna april 85c/85p/90p in regular accounts)

+1 GOOG April 350c @1750

long +5 NTES April 100 puts @7.70 overnight but scratched them just now for b/e. Think I might regret that move and want to get back in --- but cannot due to the insane PDT rule (until tomorrow).

But now -90c/+100c (April) in regular accounts after exiting long April 80c near contract highs (so far). Converted 80/90c vertical to bear spread- but also short 85p and 90p at nice prem. in same accounts!

Also looking to take a short pos in CME once again ! We are going to nail CME this Spring when the worm turns! CME in bearish rising wedge pattern (IMHO) !

this market is getting crazier every month ! It's not a market anymore- its a giant arbitrage MOSH PIT with the large option scum players wagging the dog! But in other accounts I did sell my SOX April 500 and May 510c at highs on the day - and luckily was able to convert my short SOX calls into a decent bear spread - so thanks for the hedge fund maggots!

Anyone who thinks they can trade options in a Reg T retail account under 500K, and make anything worth the risk and aggravation --- is kidding themselves ! I am putting in 15x the effort as in the 90s. Talk about a JOKE- its Reg T!

AAPL and the PDT rule

I had a .80 profit in this IRA on the +9 lot April60c but I could not take it thanks to the parasites who run NASD, SEC and NYSE and won't let anyone make more than 3 day trades a week. I was down to my last trade. So thanks to the maggots at NASD and the PDT rule I had to hold the position at a loss overnight! If there are more dishonorable scum in our society than those running NASD, NYSE and SEC -- I have not found them! The PDT rule (next to the Patriot Act) is the most unconscionable enactment of the 21st Centruy.

Yesterday I had a 1.60 profit in 6 DNA June 90c (+960) that I held overnight --- but because I had inadvertently bought ONE (1) more yesterday @4.80---- if I closed any (even those held overnight) then the PDT rule would treat it as a day trade. Unreal!

is that a misprint on GOOG? :-)

looks likely that my (short) 380p (and in this account) my long 350c are going to yield some cash tomorrow if the nasd MMs and the shorts don't find some way to manipulate GOOG lower overnight. :D :D Of course the shorts will all be limping around after receiving GOOG's boot up their arse for their greed!

That's what you gotta love about markets and trading. There are always many pigs on both sides of a move. Witness AAPL right now! But you gotta thank greedy players. They make life easy for the rest of us by greasing the skids both ways.

I also believe GOOG will be exonerated of any fraud and this will push the stock over 400. This has been my view for a while that some surprise was likely on GOOG in the low 300s.

AAPL is also ready for takeoff, and will see upper 60s soon. JMHO

Someday maybe the NASD NYSE CBOE etc. will let us all know why we can't trade options in the AH. It's crazy how they allowed stocks to trade AH but didn't allow the derivatives thereof to open until the next day. Typical low intellect of the SROs etc. Yep, amazing the minds that come up with this stuff. The same brainpower that came up with the PDT rules and REG T while disallowing portfolio margining! Must all be mensa members!

Oh I get it! All the institutional and hedge fund maggots who can trade 370 dollar stocks in size are allowed to profit from the AH news while options traders in (smaller) retail accounts and/or retirement accounts who want to leverage their funds and trade the same fricking security via options have to sit on their hands -- overnight ! Sure that makes sense.

This is so fking frustrating to sit here with long calls and not be able to trade them AH! Unreal!
 
Series 7 Day

Damn IT! I am so disappointed! I wanted to get a 95+ on the series 7 test I took today (6+ fricking hours) but I only got

89!!

Guys, this was a hard test. Not because of the material being difficult but due to the esoteric nature of some of the questions that had no relevance or bearing on anything I studied or ever encountered in many years being in and around the markets! Some of the questions weren't even covered factually or conceptually in an almost 800+ page study manual when I checked after the test! Unreal! Some questions were either ridiculously simple and tested almost zero knowledge, or so esoteric, obscure, vague and ambiguous that even a seasoned vet may not know it unless he dealt with that aspect of the markets for 20 years! Academics! You can't live with them, can't shoot them!

Will begin Journal calls and posting next Monday. Meanwhile I'm going to savor the moment, and start re-focusing on the markets.

here's an example of a meaningless (and unclear) question from today's series 7 test. Now what knowledge does this question test? It is a purely trick question in my view.

"short XYZ stock at 25 and thereafter sell a January 20 put at 3. On the day BEFORE expiration, what is the investor's breakeven price?"

what do you think the answer is? (then I will tell you later what I answered)
 
Lot of those misdirection questions on the Series 7, because they have to come up with different ways of asking the same stupid question...
