IB's new US equity commission

Quote from candletrader:

IB is leading the way... if other brokers don't respond, those other brokers will die...

Cyber is still cheaper on stocks w/ .006 on first 2k and .003 on over 2k.

pev,

"USD 50" means the stock trading at $50 (US dollars), and "USD 2" means the stock trading at $2 (US dollars) in your example. By the way, the commission rate is not $0.0005/share, it is $0.005/share (i.e., half a cent per share).

Quote from SideShowBob:

Don't they have a platform fee though? Like $100 a month?

SSB

per share fee

Fee Waived1 if you Trade: 40,000 shares or 200 contracts per month

or per trade fee

40 equity/options trades or 200 options/futures contracts per month

I doubt many active trades do less per mth.

Cyber would need round the clock futures trading and more contracts (bonds, currencies) before I would try them out.
