I'm finding the company structure confusing. At first reading it looks like they are issuing shares for a 5% share of a new public company Interactive Brokers Group Inc, with the existing owners holding 95% of this public company. This public company in turn holds 5% ownership of IBG LLC, which is the existing company from before the IPO. Again the original owners hold on to 95% of the existing company. Does this not mean that the 20,000,000 shares issued are for a 5% share of a 5% share? All the financials seem to assume the issued shares are simply for a 5% of the existing company.
