IB's 4% Intraday Initial Margin Req. for Index Futures

In order for that to lead to a problem for IB, during that process the ES would have to move in excess of 70 points. Unlikely over the course of a day, let alone over the course of an hour lets say.

Aug 19 2007 Low of the day 1399 (ES7UG) high 1471 !!!!! in a few minutes it zoomed up almost 60 pts..when the Fed made a pre-opening announcement...

Damnit is just a crybaby, anytime you have anything negative to say about IB he throws a hissy fit. Dont know why either, its pretty strange.

although likely most reps not hanging around ET during w/e's, if by chance an IB folk is available and can provide us, concerned clients, with some guidance concerning index futures margins policy it'd be very helpful and very appreciated as i can organize for any eventual course of action ought to be taken early next week.

IB is a broker for pros like myself, you two rug rats need to hook up and make gay love.
Whatever you say boss. You're obviously a big time trader. We could tell right off.

Real mature, I didnt realize IB let 12 year old little boys open trading accounts :D

Exchange minimum "margin" for NQ is $3250/2600, initial/maint. Cat's out of the bag now.

NQ margin's in late 90's were over 10k. Get used to "margin volatility"

LOL, I dont HAVE to do anything. You have an unhealthy relationship with your broker that someone else commented on. I've noticed this too and chimed in. Geez Mde2004, dont get so riled up, its bad for your blood pressure :D

You need to lay off me fruit and respect my trading. I am up over $400k in my long term retirement portfolio this yr.
