IBKR opens @ 50 or so.

Quote from atlantafarmer:

Disclosure: I have no position.

1. I was interested in Friday, a good broker by reputation and selling at P/E of about 25.,,dadadadada....

(problems)
2. First day's tape was weak. Auction model?

3. CEO, in an article by marketwatch, indicated that although 10%(40 million shares, after fact) was sold in IPO, they plan to sell 8-10% for the next 10 years, EACH YEAR.

NOW I GOT A PROBLEM WITH THIS , WHO IS GOING TO BUY THIS STOCK WHEN YOU WANTS TO SELL 40 millions shares everyyear?

You are right, CEO had this thought in mind to dump stock of his company for years to come and for this reason made public announcement. Yes, he will buy back cheap... eventually... Isn't it dumb way of thinking?

ALERT!

IBKR going UP to around $30.15 before marching on toward $32.79 !

Get in on the action now.

Don't look back with regret.

YOU HEARD IT HERE.

Now that the IPO is over there doesn't seem to be any point of following this stock unless your a long term holder.

Wrong .. with an intra-day range of $2.25 it presents some good trading opportunities.

Guys, dont be mad at me for the hooliganism demonstrated by IB on this IPO.

I greatly respect TP who started out when he was 32 by buying an exchange seat on the AMEX in the late 1970s and working it with two others. However, this was unfair to prospective shareholders.

Loading the float, selling it to retail holders before it opened (whose only intention was to flip) on websites like sharebuilder, and raising the price up was a recipe for disaster.

I respect TP, but I dont respect this hooliganism. Now someone is left holding shares at 32 bucks while the pps sails down to the low 20s where it should have been priced in the first place.

When I think of the IB ipo, it seems too much like vonage. I'll move on from this thread. I've stated my piece.

For the record, I did try to call IB customer service to see if short shares were available. I waited an hour to speak to someone and then when I asked my question, they said they would call me back as they had to ask someone else. I never received a callback. Customer service!!!

How many years, or months have you been in the business?
Anybody with remedial knowledge of trading understands, you CAN NOT SHORT an IPO the first few weeks of trading.

You just keep digging yourself into a deeper hole.

Go back to your make believe technical analysis please.

An IPO moving downwards offer zero trading opportunities.

You cant play an IPO short.

In fact, some longs can't even sell in the first few weeks.

If the long can't sell, then the shorts definately can't short.
