IBKR Crash at a terrible time?

How did you find it?

It first got halted around noon at $5.65. He is probably just watching for stocks that are up huge, or has a scanner window like I do which tells you whenever a stock gets halted. Halts are all over the place lately. I've seen 10 today.

Saw it tear past $3, grabbed a few shares. Stock Scanner, easier said than done because they collapse fast and I am not a fast 30 year old trader like ChipShot! Chats harass me as Grandpa, kind of feel like it :)

I got in early, my parameters look for thin float getting mentioned by Social Media rapidly with vol spikes.

Look at MTSL and WEI examples of getting screwed on these pumps. Shorts crush most not having enough Social Media excitement.

Yesterday on the open I submitted a batch of orders to IB (using IB API connected to Excel DDE spreadsheet) and nothing happened. No status update, no submission....nothing. I hit submit a few more times, and finally they went through. Unfortunately, by this time the market had already been open for 3 minutes so many of the trades took off without me being onboard. Incredibly frustrating.

Lots of glitches at IB....if I knew of a reputable broker who provided an API for order submission and had low commission trading I'd probably consider switching at this point.
What kind of orders were they? Market orders? Market On Open (MOO) orders? Limit? Limit on Open (LOO)?

How do you filter for social media spike. Any good data provider?
Let me ask my friend, he’s a big player like Dest and shares it. As a experiment go to Stocktwits(Filled with bots and bad faith actors while still offering value.) and see how many posts they’re promoting on XELA, MTSL and TBLT.
