IB TWS's forced upgrade (deadline 20061222)

In any case, it seems like a strange decision to force everyone to upgrade in the last trading week of the year. Maybe they have anticipated no problems but I'd think it would be hard enough keeping the helpdesks staffed during the xmas-nyear week as it is.

I hope they know what they're doing...

I am having a problem with the latest version. When I run a 4 hour, 3 min bar chart, the screen blacks out and an erroneous time frame is painted across the bottom of the chart. If I use the built in slider and move the pointer to some value greater than 240 min. it will usually build the chart. I've gone back to the previous version and have no problems. IB charting has always been weak (IMHO) and QuoteTracker has taken up the slack for myself.
 
my tws today told me that i can run my old version until jan. 5th.

so let's see how many further updates we get up to this date. maybe they will then offer a version without any bugs - or otherwise maybe i get another prolongation for my old but solid one.

Damn, now I won't be able to find out what IB's "Desupported" really means until Jan. 5th!!! :mad:
 
865.7 is all right during the day but what a hassle it is at night - the quotes become stale or you get messed up levels on booktrader time to time and I never had this problem before this forced upgrade!
