IB TWS using 300% CPU on macbook suddenly?

I think that you don't need to worry about this. TWS comes bundled with its own Java installation. IB does this on purpose, so that they are assured that the correct version of Java is available for their TWS. You do NOT need to install Java separately.

Thats what i assumed because when tws updates, a java installer window pops up too but it disappears when tws is done updating. I cant find any actual java program anywhere in my mac. Only when i open the tws file there will be a JARS file in there with a bunch of code. Thanks i wont install any java separately

Similar problem on a Mac desktop even. I had show all on the Options window and man - it took a LOONG time to load the AMZN chains. I cut the feed to fewer options and it worked better. Maybe one of your windows is drawing down too much data?

A poster on page 1 suggested i close my tws windows too and i closed them until nothing was left to close but the problem never went away. The latest update dropped the cpu to 20-60% but thats still higher than the less than 10% my cpu was showing before

Unfortunately Windows on OSX has become an afterthought. I've left the Apple platform and went to a windows platform after running 6+ years on Mac mini.
