IB TWS reboot in the middle of a trade !

Hi guys,

I have found IB TWS to reboot (i.e. disconnect and reconnect to show daily lineup) in the middle of a trade and it is a concern !

Is there any standard when it does a reboot (i.e. disconnect and reconnect to show daily lineup) ? and how to change it ?

Does it happen at the same time every day? And at what specific US ET time?
And how stable is your own internet connection? Are you testing it at the same time?

I suspect you are connected to IB HK server.

so around 1/2 hour ago, there would be reboot.
and it will happen every trading day without fail.

so you have to request for connection to say IB US server.
Then reboot will happen every trading day around mid-Asian session
without fail.

interestingly other brokers don't do such reboot

Normally, the trade stays on. You can check the mobile application while it is rebooting, if it is really is a concern.

Like @macinger mentioned, it might be due to your server connection. Check that in your settings. Mine always reboots at around midnight, which is almost never an issue as I am seldom looking at the markets at that moment.
 
Thank you guys. Will check the server !

The reboot (the app did not close, but the connection to the app closed and reconnected) - it happened when I was about to close a trade so !
