IB TWS: maximum number of booktraders open at a time

Hello,

I would like to know what is the maximum number of booktraders you can open at a time with TWS. I am talking about Level 1 and not deepbook datas. Is it as much as the number of market data lines you get?

Thanks a lot.

I think by default 100 tickers in total, but you can ask for more.

OK thanks. So If you have 100 tickers, you can open 100 booktraders( if you have like 20 screens LOL ). Am I right?

From IB's online TWS guide:

The number of deep book data windows that you can display at one time (including BookTrader, ISW and Market Depth) is equal to 1 for every 100 allowed lines of market data, with a minimum of three and a maximum of 30. Market data allowance is based on commissions, available equity and other criteria. So a client with the minimum allowance of 100 lines of market data will be able to open 3 deep book windows. A client with an allowance of 500 lines of market data will be able to open 5 unique deep book windows.

the total number of Level I quotes being retrieved cannot be more than 100 (or whatever the max on your account is) regardless of # of windows being opened to get the quotes. That also includes the API, so if you have 3rd party apps connecting, those quotes count toward the max
