What do you propose ?

I need :

- an interface running under linux without using wine
- being able to trade futures and stocks on the same account
- being able to manage multi sub-accounts from one platform
- access through a java API
- low commissions

well i have no idea to be honest - other than holding your margin at an investment bank as a private client, abd to be honest i dont know their fees.

would you be happy putting down 0.5- 2 mil in a margin account anyway???

just hope youre not putting your strategy before your broker requirements - or, putting it another way, the cart before the horse.

I have had several times when TWS was running and when I come back 10 min later its gone. No problem logging back on so I assume its not crashing but just knocking me off and shutting down. Anyone else on this?

Today I had more disconnets, freezing and loss of market data than I care to count. Nice.
 
I have been fine all day with US markets. Europe is shown to be up and I any quotes. Also, all my combo quotes for the Eurostrips are gone.
 
Back in.

It turned out that the settings file for TWS was corrupted despite my reinstalling of TWS. Def was very instrumental in helping me out to resolve this issue... More people like him would make IB a much better firm...

Seems like the connection is OK and the data is flowing smoothly...
