Ib Tws Down

Actually I don't expect this problem to persist the whole day. Most likely IB will fix it until the open of the regular US session, so I will just shift my capital back to the US account. Shuffling money around betwen different IB accounts is a thing of 2 minutes, so no real problem, in case they have problems like this

As a matter of fact there is no need to pay a few hundred bucks these days.....there are some decent chart providers that are in the 15.. 25 dollar area..... www.money.net www.alphatrade.com and I'm sure there are others....

in the 60 dollar area is ...www.naq.com

Any of these are better then the IB charts.



Are we down because of the charts...? If so Ib needs to put the charts on separate servers and separate communications or get rid of them.

IMO the only reason IB became so popular is because they provided a stable execution platform with good commissions. The commissions may not be as competitive as they once were and thats ok as long as the execution platform is stable. Key words being "execution" and "stable" Notice I left out charts. I can get my own , thank you very much !

Ib seems to be forgetting it's niche market (cheap and stable EXECUTION) and is attempting to be all things to all people. IMO if someone can't afford his own charts he really shouldn't be trading in the first place...

Yeah, mines been down for 2 hours now.
 
I logged back in a few minutes ago and everything was fine...then all the quotes disappeared but the Market Data box is still green and usfarm and usfuture are also green (view/market data connection).

This is getting VERY old. Glad IB is only my backup acct.

I've had no connection or data problems lately, but notice I don't have any ftse futures quotes right now. Anyone else have the same problem?

Edit: Looks like they changed market data subscriptions since yesterday. I signed up to Euronext Level I and it is working now.

DAX just disappeared. Shutdown TWS and restarted and it's now back up.
