IB - TWS 3.0 vs 4.0

I am trying to open features/options account with IB.

I am curious about TWS 3.05 version, as I was told by IB customer rep that if I open options/futures account with IB, I will have to go with TWS 3.05 version. With futures only account I couls use TWS 4.0

What are the differences in those 2 editions of TWS?

Futures options accounts require a marginging system that needs to be developed a bit more before IB allows futures/options on the JWS. I think its only a few weeks away.

As for TWS vs JWS. The front ends are different but the backends route the same way. JWS has added flexibility and there is no problem switching back and forth between versions as long.
