IB two programs with API?

I am using Sierracharts witht the IB TWS API. Can I use other software for API at the same time, such as one of the order entry front ends? thanks

it was well possible with tws builds 6 mo's ago.
i tried it last week and ran into several problems.
ended up both applications lost connection to tws.
not the first time i experienced this.

I use quotetracker and tried running a tick collector for metastock and it worked well (2 api's)

Yes you can. I run multiple instances of NinjaTrader to one instance of TWS.

I currently run 5 different programs connecting to TWS API. Some programs however are sensitive to the Client ID they get, so you may need to run them first before the others. Generally most programs do not have this problem.
