IB to soon offer Taiwan stocks

It's been a while since IB last added a new country's stock market. TW is coming.

I doubt it. Taiwan regulation requires an overseas mate to Register in order to trade.
Maybe you can register through Sinopac via IB, but it is not like you can just click a buy button immediately

I have not tried on a retail level but know that foreigners can acquire Korean stocks, the execution, however, must occur through a local, domestic, entity, such as Samsung securities. And there are many regulations and holding caps in Korea.

Foreign exchange adjustments such as repatriation of profits could not be done directly but via NDFs.

So a retail investor in IB canNOT buy Korea names, and so I am saying it should be similar to Taiwan.
