IB Suggestions & Improvements

My apologies if the following has already been suggested (or if the capability already exists), but I would like to see a one-cancels-the-other order type (basically a bracket order after the fact). Say I'm in a position, and I want to put in both a stop-loss order and a limit-close such that if either one executes then the other open order is cancelled.

Thank you.

Regards,

The only improvement I would like is to have the facility to buy or sell at market using the booktrader. Several competitors / software add-ons exist that have this facility -- TT as an example of the former, TradeMaven as an example of the latter --2 buttons, allowing one to buy @ market or sell @ market would be great.

thank you.

Book Trader Configure > Buttons > Add

Create a Buy or Sell market order button.

Capability exists -- check out TWS's OCA Group functionality.

How about the option to include (futures) commission in the total P&L figure on the main page?

Ideally this would be automatically calculated so that if you are, say, on unbundled futures prices, it knows how many trades you've made that month and subtracts the correct commission per trade.

Or, simpler, a box where the user can input a certain fixed $ level for each instrument traded.

As others have said, more comprehensive trade stats in the Account page would be handy too. Stats for day/week/month such as No. trades, No. w/l, av w/l, the usual stuff.

Cheers.

I would like to see MIT/Market if Touched Orders. In other words, if I input a limit order, say to sell 3000 AAPL @ 59, and
it subsequently trades at that price(preferably a user-defineable # of times), at some point (preferably a user-defineable time interval) afterward any unfilled portion of my order converts to a market order.

You can use ButtonTrader for this, it has the Touch-logic and additionally a timer to postpone the change in a Market-Order a bit (user defineable timer).
There is an example of this in the tutorial-Video's:

Please make changes to the column widths in 'Account' (TWS>view>account) sticky. Its frustrating having to constantly click and drag because the changes I made previous have not been kept and I'm seeing "..." for the columns that I want to see and huge size for "commodities 0.00" which I don't care about.

I would like the current day's TICK and TRIN (IB symbols TICK-NYSE and TRIN-NYSE) to be saved on the server. As it is now, if I refresh a TWS chart containing them, or logoff of TWS and then log back on, none of TICK or TRIN data from earlier in the day is displayed. On the top of the chart is a "No historical market data available prior to ..." message. The same may be true of other market internals but I haven't checked.

Allow a way to remove spikes (distortions in axis). When the cross hairs are activated, have info such as high/low/open/close/time. On the price axis, show current real time price (write it, highlighted or bold). Oh and have price axis on both sides (or toggle to one or the other).

Book Trader

Change Book Trader(BT) to have separate defaults for the high and low side bracket orders (currently set thru Configuration screen for all bracket orders). At this time the "bracket" can only be preset equidistant from the execution price. An ability to preset the high and low brackets independently would provide some highly desired functionality. Further giving each open BT window capability to set its brackets independent of any other BT window provide the ability to handle products with different "tick" values and volatility.
