IB Suggestions & Improvements

Quote from Babak:

This may be a crazy idea but here goes...

I know that IB is working on improvements and additions to its technology and platform all the time. Could we, your clients, be put in charge of setting the priorities?

I mean, give us transparency on the list of things you're working on and let us vote to determine which we want now and which we would like later.

I know you have polls and such, but that's not what I'm talking about. Polls are about one specific improvement. I'm talking about the whole list that is on the table at any one time (atleast the part which can be made public).

What do you others think?

Yes, it is a crazy idea.

We are a privately owned company and plan to remain so for the time being.

While we very much like to see the requests and suggestions made by our clients, we will continue to make the final decision as to whether, what and when something gets implemented.

IBsoft, my suggestion for you is to introduce option "Exclude Exchange".
This way I can select Smart , but exclude PHLX that always cheats.

Good news: Configure->Misc->Smart Routing already allows you to exclude exchanges.

Bad news: we only allow you to exclude those exchanges that we believe (based on our stats) are inferior. PHLX is not of them. Do you have statistically significant data through which you would demonstrate that PHLX should be excludable?

More entry/trailing stops options would be great - e.g. sell below 5/15 min bar. Traders could then follow more instruments, generate more commis.

no , I don't have it as a recorded document , but everytime my buy order(Smart) was execute by PHLX I had issues did not suggest to exclude PHLX completely , I suggest to create radio button choice per user, which in my case would of be"Select Smart,Excluding PHLX".It's does not take a lot of cod changes to do it,but gives every user an opportunity to NOT to do business with certain exchange(for any of his or hers reasons)

Our reasons for not allowing the user to just remove any exchange they want don't have to do with the ease of coding. It is a business decision.

Unless I get convinced with the statistics to allow for the removal of PHLX, I can only recommend to you to use directed routing. Sorry.

PHLX extremely slow to confirm the market order you are a straddle/strangle player(separate legs at the time),fast confirmation that one of the legs are executed is everything. You can check the speed of execution by comparing TimeOrderEntred vs. TimeOrderComfined. I don;t have this data(only confirmation time) , but YOU do.Othervise , how can I submit the proof?
Thanks for replaying

We'll check it. Thanks.

IBsoft:

What would you consider "statistically significant"?

Do you use IB's smart leg-in combinations to execute the straddles/strangles? In case you don't, I suggest you give it a try.
