IB Suggestions & Improvements

simplify charts, like most of the better ones, should be able to simply type in a stock or another option symbol on same chart;
instead of all that ''unique time consuming steps''.

b]More simplyfying ,put bid ask on them all;
why would anyone want to look at a chart without bid/ask????

c]On option symbols, on my quote screen stop incomplete info;
''QQQ...'' instead of the full option symbol.
''QQQ...'' tells me nothing when its supposed to be QQQVM

z] SMART is quite handy/helpful & dont see any problem with it shortened to ''SMA...'', thats clear on quote screen;
unlike unclear , confusing , option symbol ''QQQ...''

FWIW you can customize colour in charts when you're using IB's web based platform. I don't know why this functionality exists there and not in the installed version. In any case, its clear the chart portion of IB has lots of room for improvement.

The columns are resizable; stretch the column and the dots will be replaced w/ letters.

The normal release cycle is: beta, web-based, installed. In a short file the web-based will be promoted into the installed.
 
Lot of work has to be done on charts improvement issue...
1 Get rid of the blank useless space
2 Remove chart menu's to save space and instead add it
to TWS menu or enable right click functionality.
3 Add customization for colors ,scales etc.
4 I would like so much to be able to trade from chart screen
like initiate position setting my stop moving it up down
with a use of a marker on the price scale etc.
5 Also would like much to be able to see daily and weekly stock
charts.

I agree with the above. IB made significant improvements. We like it because it is great and stable trading tool.

However, many times changes caused unnecessary problems.

It would be nice that TWS will also make coffee in the morning. However, thats why they have invented coffee maker. Same with the charts and other features.

Use charting software for charts and IB TWS for trading!!!

TWS is one of the best trading tools and I do NOT like anybody to mess around.

Aegean ........ i believe this feature is already available under
the chart config. It was working a wk or so ago...at least
during US mrkt hrs. Seems like i remember playing with
the settings then...??? maybe somebody else knows more.
