I can tell, by what you have posted, that you shouldn't be doing your own taxes and should be using a pro tax preparer with special expertise in the area of trading.
If an option is exercised, as I recall, then the premium paid or received becomes part of the cost basis or sales proceeds from the stock trade, and so the option trade is not separately listed (if my memory is correct; I am already starting to forget what I read in the IRS instructions). If the option was not exercised, then the option's trade is listed as a separate trade, apart from your stock trades. But if you couldn't figure this out from IRS instructions on your own, then you shouldn't be doing your own taxes. You need a professional.
My opinion is that IB will be more likely to respond to your request, and to consider it more extensively, if you provide some specifics to show how this would benefit you.
1) Allow sound notification for orders executed, but that were created on the basket page.
2)Allow portfolio page to permit inet, arca, etc. for quick stock entry, and not always default to smart when a new position has been updated on the portfolio page.
3)To be able to delete a symbol from a quote page when that symbol already has orders transmitted and waiting, but not executed.
4)Allow basket orders to appear on all pages, and not just confined to the basket and pending pages. Both before and after orders have been transmitted. Version 853 changed this.
These changes would be greatly appreciated.
