IB Suggestions & Improvements

Quote from Bob111:

here is my story. yesterday i was about to transfer money via ACH from IB to my bank. it was joint account. i login into account using firefox(don't know, if it make difference) and click on option "create instructions". but because i was lazy and don't write down bank acc # and ABA i simply open in new window my another account, log into it and get to the page where you can view/modify/delete instructions for ACH transfers. i copy and paste acc# from this account into account, where i was creating instructions, click next or whatever it says on button. did receive conformation token, but then-@ final step of creating ACH instruction error message says-"instruction with this name exists".
hmm...aa, hell with it. add 1 at the end and go to another step, where is agreement was. down to the bottom of the page and about to put electronic signature, but there is only one, with my wife name(remember-it's joint account).hmm..alright-copy and past her name, to get to the final page, where is all info is -names of account holders, username, acc#,amount, bank info, etc. and there is surprise for me-top of the page clearly shows that i'm in our joint account, both names and account # on top of the page, but on rest of the page all info is from another account. and transfer is pending not from joint account, but from another one, with single owner:D
how about that? i have all screenshots of this mess, because i never seen something like this. have no idea, what may cause it.

anyone ever seen something like this?
Thank you!

I have yet to do an ACH with IB. I am used to the old wires and checks. However, I have ACH with Paypal hooked up to my checkings and it is free and simple as hell.

I am assuming this ACH with IB is the same as Paypal's ACH transfers? If so I am going with it. Cheaper than wires and faster than checks.

Did your money show up??????

ACH from IB works great. take about 3 to 5 days(depends on bank) to get the money on your bank account. there is no fee on bank side for it and IB charge like a dollar per transfer, if you withdraw more than once a month.

3-5 days

I made a withdrawal from my GCI account the other day and it was on my paypal account within 3 hours :)

Yes I would like a PayPal-connection as well...Hope IB will implement that soon.

Hey IB. Im not using Booktrader to trade with but I do like to use it for DOM display rather than the other DOM but in the unarmed state its hard to see. I dont like to use it armed because of the possibility of accidents. I dont think Im the only one who wants to use the vertical dom display. Can we get another option?

It's kinda scary though when your money is nowhere to be seen for a couple days during transit.

cheers

i asked you a couple of pages ago on how to calculate margin

I was refering to a futures option condor trade would take. (short a call and long a futher out call strike same month).

there is no way to use the check margin trade. Also, i have to leg into this trade and can't enter it as a combo as i can on the regular index trade.

talked to DAV almost 6months ago 'bout improvin' ib charts; makin' candles fatter'n'addin' a perimeter 'round 'em would be easier on da eyes.
also on 2days charts [i mainly use this time frame] there's no hours at da bottom, would be nice if u could add 'em here as well.

thx

Ameritrade ACH only takes one day. You can use the money right away for trading as margin upon receiving. No fee, no limit per month. IB should improve this lagging area...
