IB sub accounts? For master account

Hi

If I open an account with IB is it possible for me to have sub accounts with individual seperate limits I can allocate to each sub account from the main account?

Thanks in advance

This raises an interesting question.

Could a sub account be set up to automatically mimic equity trades on a percentage basis of the activity of the master account?

I don’t think so, unless you’d use some software for that. (probably custom made for this purpose)

That is the whole point. You trade in the master account and then allocate to the sub accounts.

You could use the option as indicated by @ZBZB and use a "friends and family" account. Another possibility is to use your own account and have multiple trading accounts under it. for example: if you are with IB US they will give you a Uxxx account number. You can ask for multiple Uxxx account numbers and use each of these independently.

Here is IB's Friends/Family link:

It would be interesting to get detail on just how flexible the config of subs could be since some accounts likely would not be sensible or even eligible for certain instruments traded in the master account. From my first search, it looks like you would have to contact IB for these details.
