Over the last few days, several times a day, EVERY single stock becomes unshortable for about 30 seconds. All the sudden the 'shortable' column goes from light green to dark green, and you can't short anything. After 30 seconds, they're light green again, and everything is shortable. Is this happening to anyone else?
IB--stocks suddenly not shortable

I saw this happen once today, and my initial thoughts were....F%^%c, the market's about to take a dump and somebody's not letting you short it!
Maybe it's IB testing their "Emergency Response System" for the FED/Treasury guys? Like they do on broadcast TV?
Just testing, just testing, if this had been an actual emergency, the list of stocks on TWS would suddenly be UNavailable to short and would again be shortable after a FED announcement...stay tuned for further instructions. beep...beep...beep...Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
