I've used IB's basic TWS at my work for months now and love it. However, we just got moved to the corporate headquarters where they have a proxy server for all internet connections. Now TWS does not work - I cannot even load it. The help desk at IB said I was hosed because TWS used a secured port which is not allowed generally by a proxy server.
Is there any way around this (that won't get me fired)? The only suggestion IB's tech guy had was buy a mobile PDA and load TWS.
Is there any other solution or do I need to just switch brokers? Surely I'm not the only one that has run into this...
