IB order entry integrated with Esignal

I'm looking into IB, but I don't like the user interface. Looks clunky and unreliable, and reading user's comments about it, most have problems. I love their commission structure though. As for ESignal, been using them since '98, and love them. Always online and reliable.

At first glance TWS does look strange. But you get used to it
and like it after a short while. And I think most do not have
problems with TWS and the ones who do seem to be over-
zealous in their griping. Talking about clunky, Esignal charts
have been one of the most clunky for years. Are the new
charts as clunky as the old ones? I don't even see how anyone
could trade with the old version of Esignal...

With TWS you have to learn the hotkeys. And then you can rip
trades off fast. No biggie...Beats being one of those "mouse
clicking" traders...

:D

I am sure I beat your order entry with my mouse point & click on JTRADER...

It is like playing Quake Arena? Who are the fastest players? People with keyboards or the ones that master mouses ??? :)

this topic is silly IMO. the routing to the exchange and your price entry point is far more important than the fraction of a second difference from someone hitting a hotkey and the guy dragging a mouse around to click on an order. the difference is negligible - nevertheless, I'd take you on that a hot key will consistantly beat the mouse. the difference is that mentally you have to check to see if the mouse is lined up properly. This takes more than a few milliseconds and even longer if you have to make any adjustments.

I have since learned if IB order execution was to be integrated with eSignal it would be at no extra cost to the eSignal/IB subscriber but simply available to the eSignal subscriber if they wanted the ability.

This is the way the other broker integrations operate.
This might put to bed in griping about paying additional fees.

Having used TWS for a while now I am getting more proficient with the interface but I would still like to have the ability to execute order from within eSignal.

If you want to complete the latest survey from IB, you will see they ask if we have an interest for IB integration with ESignal, just to complete quickly if you want it!

Ah yes, but I finally did get my survey to go through. You have to
fill out the top section (3 picks) and the bottom section (3 picks)
or it will not work...

In the next major release of eSignal (7.2) we will adding support for more integrated brokers. Its very likely you will see IB as part of this expanded list. The beta for this release is expected to be in July.

@eSignal

What other features do you plan in this 7.2 release ?
Backtesting features ?
Enhanced quotes (with formulas) ?

A debugger for EFS ? and a faster virtual machine ??
