I reinstalled IB tws and things are better today. I have a dual 2,8 xeon pentium hp workstation with matrox g550 graphics and 1gb ram. Screen re-draw seem slow in java. What can I do to speed this up?

Problem reocurred running with metastock and firefox. Re-boot solved. Do I need another PC?

Why no volume for CME options on futures within IB TWS?

I have moved IB TWs to the main screen and put metastock and firefox on the secondary screen. Hopefully the g550 will handle this.

Still got problems, turned off bus mastering and 32 bit z buffering and redraws of TWS are extremely slow. May try my ati radeon 9000.

Downgraded TWS to 843.7, quotes were slow to come up but have now arrived.

The problem may be that I have not signed up for the ESTX50 eurostox index but can get the option quotes in 845.5. When I then switch to the esm5 options the page comes up with the estx50 option quotes and everything is confused and I have to exit and reboot. Now that I have downgraded to 843.7 it will not let me see the estx50 option quotes so the software cannot confuse itself. Will it be quicker getting option quotes from the switzerland server (I am in London)?

843.7 does not want to display the ishare russell 2000 options iwm. They came up fine in 845.5.
