S shortie Feb 20, 2009 #12 i really like IB. it does have some glitches once in a while, but probably all brokers do. today i had to seriously sh*t my pants because i ended up with a large equity position which i could not hedge with short SPY. inverse ETFs is a very good idea. alternative broker does not work 100%. if you exceed margin in IB account, get liquidated and still have your hedge with the other broker.
