IB & long SHORT & short LONGs

Looking at IB's 'Sell', 'Buy' and 'Sell Short' choices I fail to see 'Cover' option - 'Buy' is used for entering LONG and covering SHORT.

I would like to be able to SHORT the same stock long term and scalp bounces with short term LONGs.

This seem to be not possible within the IB's software.

Any ideas?
 
you should not have to worry about those keys, just use buy/sale. They are set up for other broker dealers or professionals who need to declare their trades. The IB system knows your position and thus does the work for you.
