Nassau,
your facts, conclusions, and innuendoes, once again, are wrong.
You are wrong to say that that this incident with Altana options resulted in "substantial losses" to IB shareholders. The entire loss was reimbursed by Chairman Peterffy. You are wrong to say that the incident resulted in litigation. You are wrong to say that there are any meaningful similarities between IB and Refco, which might justify a comparison between the two companies, or suggest that IB is dishonest or financially unstable.
You also allege that IB's sometimes inaccurate documentation, and sometimes inaccurate information from lowest-level customer service representatives, are "criminal". This is just an absolutely ludicrous accusation. IB's brokerage services are highly technical and extremely complex in nature. It would be extremely expensive for IB to make sure that all of its CS reps have the brains and the training to understand all the finer technical points of IB's software and services. It appears that IB has made a business decision that its customers would be better served by low commissions, rather than by staffing its CS dept. exclusively with graduates from Harvard and M.I.T. I would agree that IB should devote greater resources to more accurate and more current documentation, and I think this would help cut costs as well as benefit customers, but it is totally ludicrous and shrill to suggest that IB has any criminal intent because its highly intricate documentation is imperfect.
Do you profit in some way by smearing IB with false accusations? Do you work for a competing broker? Are you short IB shares or calls, or long IB puts? Do you have some other reason for wanting to damage IB? Are you just unable to admit that you were wrong?
First of all I am not smearing IB and if you read my posts and posts on other threads it was not until YOU attempted to slander my that I continued to post in response to your bs. I am not short IB shares, I do not hold any calls or puts as I mentioned prior as there is little incentive re premium to do so but as I have previously posted will entertain witting puts or buying around the high teens / twenty dollar area.
I have been wrong many times in my life (my wife reminds me daily)and I can and do admit so when I am wrong. We can agree to disagree thats why we have longs and shorts, one is untitled to ones opinion as long as it is not life threatening or immoral..imo.
With reference to your posts, the entire loss has not been covered. All persons holding long positions when this incident occurred are now in negative positions as the stock has dropped in value. I have never ever stated IB is financially unstable and in fact totally the contrary as I keep saying to you IB is not going anywhere! and worse case scenario TP would / could take back his baby Private.
I never said the omissions of IB doc's or anything are criminal, what I said is .....now here it comes....IMO it is criminal...
you really do have a hard time digesting information. Is TP not going after them??? is that not why or one of the reasons he anted up? You are the one who keeps posting the words dishonest, financially unstable, etc. Jimmy, as you seem to be all over the place in your thoughts I have come to the conclusion that you must be ADD or ADHD. Oh and by the way even McDonalds ensures all of their staff SUCCESSFULLY PASS their training courses and continuing educational courses before they can represent the company in that specific field. Expensive, so what.
you have a nice day
