I just wanna make a clarification to my prior post where I said:
"The new version gives us the ability to reorder our TWS pages. You're supposed to click on the page and drag it to where you want it to go. This doesn't seem to be working right, as when I move one page to another location to put it in order, the one next to where the relocated page is supposed to go moves to where the original page was located. I think IB needs to go back to the drawing board on that one. "
The problem seems to occur when I try to drag a page to another row of pages as opposed to dragging within the same row. (I have 5 rows with several pages per row).

As a new user to TWS, I would like to see the following:
1) When an order is pre-staged, have the limit price automatically track the current Bid/Ask (depending on sell/buy), with an option to automatically add a delta of +/- a certain amount, e.g. .05. This will allow us to set up orders and have the limit prices be always up to date rather than having to either click the order just before sending it, or having to change the limit price when we are ready to send. Whole pages can then be set up and always be current, making better use of the Transmit Page option.
2) For the price up/down hot keys, allow an option to specify the increment value.
I have seen these options in other direct access software and they are very effective.

That is a problem with your platform, not the trading software. Reinstall windows or buy a new computer if you are having problems with crashes.

I have a 850mhz Athalon w/512 ram . My previous broker was Tradescape using a browser based setup. It froze up on me two or three times everyday. They told me it was a bandwidth problem. It was a major headache for me for a long time until I switched to IB. Is anybody out there using a full service setup, level two, charts, etc. over the phone line without problems?
Personally, I just want IB to keep the low commissions. You can have your Lev II, all the bells and doodads you want...but there will be a cost associated with all these "improvements." If you want to pay higher commissions, that's fine with me. Just go to another broker. There ain't no free lunch, as it were.

Freeze or "blue screen of death" with an 0E error nicodemus? I get the latter when I use quotetracker or Nextrend charts. Apparently some combinations of Athlon and motherboards based on VIA chipsets cannot handle divide by zero errors. The only way I can keep mine running is to disable the math co-processor.

When I started with Tradescape, who, by the way I dont want to knock as they are a pretty good outfit, I was running a 450 pentium 11. The troubles started before I built the new computer. I did not get the blue screen, the page would simply stall. Many times the phone line would just hang up on me. It would also do this with my Realtic. I thought for awhile the problem was in the isp connection and had nothing to do with the data but since I switched to IB I dont remember losing the phone connection once so the problem had to be something to do with the amount of data coming across the line. Anyhow those days are behind me. Execution is no longer a problem. Happy trading.

There's a possible bug in TWS 712a. When I try to "Delete Row" that's the very last row on a completely full page, it won't let me. I can delete rows above, but not the last one for some reason, even when I've deleted tickers so that the page is no longer full. I've been able to replicate this several times.
