IB Gateway: API access disabled

Today I can't use any IB Gateway prior to 936.9
If I use an earlier version (tried 926.5, 933.5), it correctly logs on but on the API settings tab there is only a message "API access is disabled".

Is there anyone out there using a gateway older than 936.9?

You should have gotten warnings from IB about this. Something like this:

URGENT MESSAGE REGARDING SCHEDULED TWS UPGRADE

You are receiving this communication as we have identified your IB account as one that is submitting orders via an API and using a TWS version that is substantially outdated and scheduled to be partially or fully decommissioned as scheduled below:

April 14, 2014 - TWS versions below 926.0 will no longer be operable.

April 21, 2014 - TWS versions below 936.9 will no longer be operable for API use, but will remain operable for non-API generated orders.

To repeat, if you are receiving this notice and intend to continue using an API for order submission, you must upgrade your TWS version. The deadline for doing so depends upon your current version, although in any case version 936.9 or above is required prior to April 21, 2014. If you are using a version below 926.0 and no longer intend to use an API, then you must upgrade to 926.0 or above prior to April 14, 2014.
