I want to add euro trading to er2 index trading, partly to be able to trade during the European morning. I have an IB account & chart with TradeStation 8. They both offer forex as well as the cme euro currency future.

Assuming IB's $25k minumum contract size is acceptable,

(1) Is there any advantage/disadvantage using a forex broker for USD:EUR, rather than IB ?

(2) Trading up to 3 ec futures contracts, is there any real advantage/disadvantage - other than size of contract - trading forex, with IB or another broker, over ec futures ?

Commissions & spreads seem very similar; liquidity may be much better in forex around European open.

j trade... you stated the problem........the euro futures during the european session has horrible volume except for the european open itself if you are scalper may be a big problem.... if you gonna hold at least 30 minutes ... go ahead with IB
