I have to say that, so far I have been satisfied pretty much with IB for individual accounts, however I just have opened FA account for my CTA and processing client`s accounts is very slow.

I`ve been waiting for client`s account approval 2 weeks already. Did you have similar experience ? Are you satisfied with IB services for CTAs ?

Chris, If all the documents have been provided then it shouldn't take that long. One thing that I would definitely recommend is that you use the electronic or semi-electronic applications rather than the paper applications. If you use the electronic applications then the system forces you to provide suitable answers. If you use the paper application, then we have to manually input this information into the application for you - and if any of the information in the paper application doesn't make sense, then it further delays the process.

What is the situation now? Is it still very slow to open client accounts? Beside IB, what future brokers can open client account faster?

It was one particular case, but overall processing has got improved since then.

Now client`s acounts are being processed quickly.

Credit goes to Liz from new accounts dep, who is doing good job.
 
Is it still necessary to re-create accounts under the Adviser master account, even if you already have accounts open at IB?

- your client`s accounts were not processed ?

- any particular reasons ?

As of the begining of this year - Yes. I was surprised by this also and it made tax returns more difficult also.
