IB Excel API links to Tickers but "firing an ordr issue"

Hi All

I have just opened an IB account (had one years ago and succesfully used the twsdde sheet way back then).
I just downloaded the TWSDDE.xls.

Have configured TWS enabling DDE links and ActiveX.


I successfully link excel to tickers.

However in the basic orders sheet i am unable to fire a trade. (Place/Modify).

I am using Windows 7 and have a 64 bit machine.
Why can i link to tickers, but not "fire" of a trade?

there are issues with ActiveX and 64 bit pc's It is well documented and IB recomended downloading 2 Microsoft distributables-1 c++ and 1 J++ package.I had the same issue with my win8 box 2 days ago and it works now. Good luck w IB. If you get Angel P from Live chat he knows how to get you going+ he is pleasant as well vs. other CSR there.
