i somehow doubt they would tell a client to go to another broker unless they were being a real hassle.

No, don't do that. Try sending a PM to IB Salvatore. I think management will be steamed as hell about this. Give them a chance to make it right.

dunno, I may not get immediate results , but I never got anyone at IB telling me to close my account.
