IB Down

IB, in the future when you're having problems such as these last few days why not send a message through TWS to alert users to potential outages. It would be appreciated.
 
yikes ... that happened to me a few weeks ago ...

I was able to end this nonsense by restarting
my apple computer ... I think some JAVA bug
or malicious virus or something was playing
games with my money !

-is it me or is your TWS executing trades when you haven't even clicked the Transmit? it's done it twice for me-

it doesn't matter,where you located. i have 4 acc on front of me. couple of them never been disconnected. so -it's not a location or internet provider. something on IB side.
 
ok ... bottom line is ... we should all have backup

brokers ... just in case of emergency

of course if you have orders pending
and are not sure if any might have executed
then that might complicate the issue
 
Getting price data but cannot enter trades.... Strange. Good price data but "Attempting to Logon #6" dialog displayed..... !!

i already ask IB to add unstead of some BS features (like people ask for keyboard blockers and sh*t like that in IB improvements tread) , to add ability to set your own margin restrictions on account. i do have bunch of orders pending and i don't want all of them filled at once or during such disconnections. fill me on my 50K and that was it. i don't need to be filled on 200K+.we really need this feature in event like we have right now.
 
Ib screen has pink borders for over an hour now, it is updating but I do not trust it. I do not notice any IB messages explaining this , two days in a row!
