CME to Open Equity Markets in Coordination with NYSE on Sept. 11
CHICAGO, Sept. 9, 2002â Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) announced that it will coordinate the opening of its stock index products on Sept. 11 with the opening of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). Accordingly, CME stock index products will open at 10:00 a.m. (Central time) or as soon thereafter as the NYSE opens on that day. Earlier today, NYSE announced that if the memorial service scheduled at the World Trade Center site runs beyond its anticipated conclusion at 10:29 a.m. (Eastern time), the exchange will delay its opening beyond the previously announced 11:00 a.m. (Eastern time).
