Interesting tidbit on today's Q4 conf call. TP reiterated that market making is absolutely isolated from brokerage -- "we do not trade with our customers."
I had known this to be true on the options side (based on regulatory requirements) but never investigated it on the equities side (those IDEAL executions). I guess now we know.
