Currently, I am using IBHK PRO. I sometimes have some questions about IB advisor account/ institutional account.

Last time, I used IB chatbox and chat with one IB staff. However, I want to know where the guy comes from.

If I was chatting with a US IB staff, how could I trust him?

Can IB just allow users to select which regional office (eg. HK/US/UK/EU/JP) to start the chat?
 
Yes, you can, and you can filter by male/female, their marriage status, and age. If you are lucky they might even meet up with you over afternoon tea.

It usually depends on the hours and language. If it's English at 5AM ET, you're most probably getting London etc. Also, why not just ask, that's what I do. I'm often told to contact later to reach another office that can give better information.
