IB Charting.

Thank your for your responses; I will address some of the suggestions and questions:

The following already works:
- saving of the charts, including the studies

The following will be provided in a not too distant future:
- 1 minute bars for 1 week backfill
- auto-refresh on 2 day charts
- 30 second bars on IB charts
- fix for the GMT+10 timezone (we don't know what is involved yet, hence it may take a while)

The work on the following is scheduled:
- trend lines, parallel lines, easy drag and drop movement
- Fib retracements, extensions and ABC fib extensions
- alignment of labels
- moving averages based on different time or tick periods on one chart.

The following features is still to be evaluated:
- dlls/plugins
- study collections and saving them
- bars based on n-ticks

Will need a different API-protocol, because it does not fit in the 2000 slots.
Maybe a range request with start and stop-time could solve it.
 
After trying the latest beta charts, here is some initial feedback on basic improvements to the charts:

1) Add support for candlestick charts
2) Add ability to zoom in / out. This will be especially useful when the 1-minute 1 week backfill is provided
3) Add ability to customize chart colors (background, up/down candlestick color, etc)

1) Could you please explain the difference between the candlestick and bar charts; don't they both show the same thing?

2) It is there; you can change the time-step.

3) I'm afraid, this will have to wait.

Also, the chart background default is black. This will KILL you on printing costs for ink. I couldn't see any way to change this to a white background.

yes white background is preferable.

Also linked charts so selecting different symbols uses the exisiting open chart. Having to open a new chart to view a new symbol everytime makes no sense.

This is just a basic need.

This is already supported.
 
1) While they technically contain the same information, from a visual standpoint I find candlestick charts to be more appealing and easier to extract pattern information from. Fairly common trader personal preference, I think.

As someone else stated, I think the timestamp for a bar should be for the start of the time interval, not the time of the first or last tick inside the bar, and not for the end of the interval.

Something else I did not mention that would be useful too is a crosshair that you could turn on/off that would give x/y coordinate information, instead of having to rely on the popup, which tends to obscure parts of the chart.
