IB Bid/Ask prices

I've recently started using IB and I've noticed that the bid/ask prices quoted in the pre-open market are different to what I get from other quote services (both L1 and L2).

Can someone confirm where IB's prices are coming from in the pre open market.

left field All kidding aside, I pretty much ignore IB's quotes.

IB premarket quotes do not show market maker bids and offers, so this might be the difference.

 

[Fohat]

IB pre-open market bid/ask prices show quotes directly from the ECNs, which can be executed against, instantly.

Frequently IB ECN direct quotes are ahead of LevelII quotes by half a second, which have to be aggregated first and than rebroadcasted.
