IB auto restart feature

Anyone running the TWS beta found this feature yet? Needs an October build.

i have been running gateway 973 but still it will close everything a few days a week without notice. i think ib is still stuck in the 90's with their java crapware.

You can use IBC (IB Controller) to overcome daily restart trouble. It won't help you with the weekend restart though as two factor authentication is required at that restart.

Yes there is, but it requires you to disable the two factor authentication. I guess that most traders don’t want to give up this security feature though. In my case: if I go away for a weekend I’ll disable the 2FA before I leave and enable it after my return. My experience is that disabling it works immediately, but enabling takes a few days before it is activated.

I have to correct myself. Enabling 2FA today immediately worked. I don't notice a delay of a few days any more.
