IB API for indicators

Hi,

Anyone with experience with the IB API, is it possible to display the results on TA indicators in numeric form, instead of just on the chart?

For example, lets say I have a list of stocks, and I'd like a column to show the 50-period SMA based on 5 minute bar close. I'm looking to consult with a programmer to develop a small app (either on Excel, Java or ActiveX) that can display various TA indicators that TWS has, but I'm not sure if this is possible at all.

Or if someone could point me to a retail software that does this (Ensign? ESignal? etc) and functions somewhat like Excel, that'd be great!

I believe you would need to re-compute the indicators in the client app, except for a few like IV where there is server-side support to compute them.
 
Sierra Chart allows the display of indicators in numeric form? Nice! I used to have it on my computer in the past but never bothered to really play with it much.
