IB API disables TWS UI?

No one likes problems.

Do any of you pinheads realize how complicated the code is for a system like this.

Talking trash only makes you look stupid.
 
I am currently having this problem on my desk computer, but not my laptop. Had it on 4/22 and 4/24

Laptop running 882.2 TWS, 1.6.0_02 Java and 3.89 Quotetracker.

Desktop WAS running 882.2 TWS 1.6.0_05 Java and 3.89 Quotetracker.

On Tuesday I removed both and fresh install on the desktop. Today, Thursday it did the same. TWS locking up once the QT API tried to send an execution order.

So far I have rolled back the desktop Java to 1.6.0_03 because the JAVA site "lost" version 2 it seems, Removed and reinstalled again 882.2, and removed Quotetracker and reinstalled 3.89 same as the laptop.

Strange thing is the desktop works FINE on my simulated trading account, but locks my real account up. Yet the laptop works fine on both.

BTW both running XP service Pak2 with all updates.

Any insight appreciated.
 
So I guess I am alone with this problem?

An update:

I removed all traces of TWS, Quotetracker and Java last night. I reinstalled Java 1.6.0_03 and TWS 882.2 and QT 3.89a. It locked up TWS with my first trade. Had to use Windows Task Manager to close TWS.

Talked with Angel @ IB, very informative and courteous. He recommended that I uninstall Java 1.6.0_xx and roll back to Java 1.5.0_14 he said version 5 was more stable with large Java programs.

anyone having same problem today? on couple accounts TWS freezes,when i connect via API. specially,when Trades window open
 
yes, I've seen that today for the first 45 minutes. Seems ok now

Edit: saw it in the papertrading account, not the real ones
 
I haven't noticed any problems today on two accounts. I am running WinXP Pro SP3, TWS 882.2, API 9.40, Java 1.5.0_13.
