Well based on recent history, it is better to keep their mouths shut then to say ANYTHING that can and will be used against them in the media and public eye. Repubs dont have the 4th estate allies to cover their asses the way Dems do.

I agree, If I was a politician I would never talk to the media. I would tell them, "If you want to know what I think, go to my website."

If the republicans do fail to win the Senate, they should all retire from politics. Clearly they are in the wrong profession. Even Jimmy Carter is piling on Obama, but we've heard little from the republicans. Somehow they've convinced themselves the best approach is to hunker down and avoid controversy.

If you have to share your toys then you may as well just smash them?
