I am surprised. His entire political career was focused on leaving the EU. Now that he has achieved that - I figured it was just a matter of time before he stepped down. I am surprised that it happened this quickly however.

He gave a pretty good resignation speech whether you agree with his policies or not.

One has to wonder how the referendum would have turned out if the many old fartknockers voting leave had not been told, "a mistake", that 350 million pounds a week would be redirected to healthcare.

I don't think it would made a different in the vote whatsoever. This effectively was a vote over sovereignty, not funding.

So it's only untrue because a portion of the 350 million pounds comes back to the U.K., thereby reducing the actual net weekly amount to approx. 195 million pounds.

Of course the money that comes back is not spend on the NHS - so effectively the U.K. could move the $350 million pounds they send weekly to the NHS. However it is unlikely that the politicians in the U.K. will do this, they have plenty of other pet projects to waste the money on.

The campaign "lie" is not as big as the whopper as the one told by the people who drove the U.K. to join the EU who claimed that each month the U.K would get from the EU more than it donates. Now that is a whopper lie.
