I am. On a Mac, though. Latest build, latest OS.
Are you using special build of TWS for ARM M1?

I means its possible if I reduce my open charts from 25 to 6 would help. But the TWS did work with build 978/979. So my options are pay more money for a charting 3d party or upgrade to an M1 pro...but that is all to compensate for pore code on IB's end.
I guess I'm old in assuming the customer's priorities were most important with a company. And what did work before now doesn't due to IB solely.
I'm sorry I'm not sure what you mean. My charts are open and sized like in this image. How do i use tabs?Put your other charts on different tabs.

You can find out what is slowing your TWS down with a Java profiler.

These tools will tell your where the bottle necks are for your instance.
I feel your pain. The fan on my machine kicks into high gear just launching TWS...the software is 20 years old.
TWS problem is that their charting software is not optimized for speed. I don't have that problem with ToS which also still runs on Java.
TWS is a poor choice for intraday trading. Don't handicap yourself.
As for the future, it will likely be browser based because they are cheap. It will only get worse.
