I want my Mommy

Interviewed a millennial for an analyst job the other day. Was disgusted 10 min into the 30 min conversation. The "kid", and I'm using that term to describe the level of social maturity he exuded, believed that any job he held longer than 6 months was considered "stagnation" and he would expect to be promoted within that time frame. I looked at his resume. 4 jobs in the last 3 years, 4 different companies. Everything was about him. I was aghast. I told the hiring manager afterwards that if he hired this...creature...that the I would have to question the hiring manager's right to be here as well.

This generation "snowflake" is the product result of political and social progressiveness without the temperament of reality and real life experience. It happens when you have progressive academics pushing an agenda and brainwashing the youth who don't know better and have no real world values to compare to. These kids never see it coming and stand no chance.

As parents, we have a duty to provide our children with strong values before they get to these institutions so they can resist the indoctrination period. Or send them someplace else. Otherwise we are doomed to have a population of adults that aren't worth their salt.

I agree that the education system certainly has done it's part raising the most entitled generation we have ever seen, but imo the main fault lies with the parents of the millennial generation that have told their offsprings from day one that they are so special and unique and can be whatever they want to be, instead of teaching them that if you really want to excel at anything it will take a tremendous amount of hard work and perseverance.

generation "snowflake"

Generation snowflake. I like it. No more millennials.

BTW, it all started with the participation trophies. People need to learn about losing.

My grandfather was not an educated man. He worked for a railroad and raised 10 kids... but he was savvy in "the ways of the world"... not to mention a sharp wit and keen sense of humor.

When I was a teen, he advised me... "The world doesn't owe you a living, kid. Make something of yourself".

There were 2 times in my life where I couldn't afford a pizza. My 1st officially paid job was as a janitor... swabbing toilets for minimum wage. I know from which I speak. Success in America is still doable, but you can't just sit on your ass and bitch about how "life isn't fair to me".... hoping the government will hand you the success you desire because you some how "deserve" it.

As true now as ever.
