When it came to closing the IB account, that resulted in more BS from IB, took a month to close account, was given the runaround again, nothing is simple or easy with that mob.
Was sheer relief when I was finally done with the biggest piece of rubbish and over complicated trading platform.

You'll notice on ET, there are more posts generated re IB than all other trading platforms combined. What does that say?

It says that most active traders here use IB ?

As of closing IB's account, ime, as well as in the opinion of the rep I talked to at that time, it's better to remove all available funds before requesting the account closure, I've always found IB withdrawal system very efficient, even internationally, but witnessed some technical difficulties upon closing an account there.

If you customize it, THEN save your basic customizations, then yes, that might work, of course any tweaks made AFTER that would not be in that early save and you'd probably forget about them.

Simply saving the settings any old time and reloading, is not a fresh install.

Do you store the settings on the server/save at close? My settings are always last used, so no problems here... with fresh installation, you download from the server, or just earlier saved locally...

The problem is , if your settings are corrupt, you have to start from SCRATCH with every single ridiculous setting. There are literally well over a hundred if you count custom column layouts and colors

PS Try to get your Time and Sales columns to retain their custom positional order from one session to the next.

I trade with IB using my own custom front end GUIs that do exactly what i need and want.

TWS has to try and do everything for everyone and is going to be poor in a lot of use cases.

Ib will be happy to know that you completely discard their front end they have spent millions developing.
